Eagle Holiday Classic

Spokane · December

Summary

The largest holiday tournament in the Inland Northwest — 41 varsity teams across boys and girls in recent fields, hosted by West Valley HS in Spokane Valley. Used to lean on small-school participation; pivoted to bring Greater Spokane League teams home for the holidays. Two guaranteed games against similar-sized opposition.

What makes this tournament distinct

Sheer scale for a single-venue event — JV games run alongside varsity, three-day window, mix of GSL 4A schools down to 1B programs. Local enough that GSL teams treat it like a regional championship.

Who it fits

Best for: Eastern Washington and inland-northwest programs that want a multi-game bracket without flying anywhere. Smaller schools get matchups they wouldn't see in regular season.

Tradeoffs: Regional only — nationally ranked programs aren't on the slate. Travel for west-side WA teams is a 4+ hour haul over the Cascades, often in winter. Schedule packed into one building means tight gym turnover.
